Sudan’s civil war, now at 1,000 days since April 2023, has created one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises. Over 33 million people face acute hunger, 9.3 million are displaced internally, and more than 4.3 million have fled across borders. With funding cuts forcing the UN to halve its 2026 appeal and the World Food Programme reducing rations by 70%, millions risk starvation. An estimated 150,000 have been killed, and nearly 25 million face severe food insecurity.
Let’s Pray:
O Lord of Compassion and Justice, we come before You broken-hearted, bringing the unbearable suffering of Sudan to Your throne of mercy. For 1,000 days, families have been torn apart, children have starved, and entire communities have been displaced from their homes. We hear the cries of 33 million voices crying out for food, for safety, and for hope.
Lord, we intercede for:
● The displaced families: Comfort those who have lost everything and guide 9.3 million internally displaced persons toward safety and restoration.
● International compassion: Soften the hearts of world leaders and donors to reverse the funding cuts and renew their commitment to alleviating this crisis.
● The vulnerable: Protect the starving children, the sick without medical care, and those trapped in conflict zones.
● Ceasefire and peace: Move the hearts of military leaders toward reconciliation and an end to this devastating conflict.
● Humanitarian workers: Strengthen those who risk their lives to bring aid and comfort in impossible circumstances.
May Your justice prevail, and may Sudan know peace and restoration once more. Amen.
“The Lord hears the cry of the poor and comes to their aid.”
