The UN secretary-general has warned that Gaza is facing an “Israeli-made humanitarian crisis” as border crossings have been shut since Saturday, cutting off vital aid to a displaced and war-weary population already living amid devastation. With Rafah and other crossings largely closed, humanitarian agencies are being forced to stretch dwindling food, fuel, and medical supplies, while families struggle to survive in ruined homes, overcrowded shelters, and makeshift camps. The wider war between Israel and Iran is further complicating efforts to reopen crossings and safely scale up aid deliveries, raising fears of famine, disease, and deeper desperation among Gaza’s civilians.
Let’s Pray:
Lord Jesus, we lift before You the people of Gaza who are trapped in destruction, displacement, and severe shortage of food, water, and medicine. You see every child who goes to sleep hungry, every parent who feels powerless to protect their family, and every person who has lost home, livelihood, and loved ones—have mercy on them, O God. Open the crossings and every necessary door so that relief supplies, fuel, and medical teams can reach all who are in need, and protect aid workers as they serve in dangerous conditions. Soften hardened hearts, restrain those who target civilians or use them as pawns, and move leaders on all sides—and among the nations—to choose justice, truth, and de-escalation instead of vengeance. Strengthen Your church and all who call on Your name in the region to be witnesses of Your compassion and peace, and reveal Yourself as the Prince of Peace to many in Gaza, Israel, and beyond. In Your mighty name, Jesus, Amen.
