Russia Intensifies Military Campaign Against Ukraine: Critical Infrastructure Attacked

On the 1,415th day of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Russian forces conducted extensive nighttime strikes using missiles and drones against critical infrastructure. The January 8-9 assault targeted multiple districts in Kyiv, the capital, with drones striking residential buildings and destroying essential services. Rescue workers were deployed to extinguish fires and search for casualties among the civilian population. Russian forces continue offensive operations across multiple fronts while Ukrainian forces maintain their counter-strikes against Russian military and energy infrastructure, including oil depots that supply Russian forces. Millions of Ukrainians continue to face displacement, power outages, and the constant threat of sudden attacks.

Let’s Pray:

God of Peace and Protector of Nations, we cry out on behalf of Ukraine, a nation under relentless attack for over three years. We intercede for families huddled in shelters as missiles rain down, for children who have never known peace, and for those searching through rubble for loved ones. We ask for Your protection and intervention in this endless cycle of violence.

Lord, we intercede for:

● The people of Kyiv and all Ukrainian cities: Protect them from missile strikes and drone attacks; grant them safe shelter and basic survival necessities.

● Those displaced from their homes: Guide the millions who have fled; provide them with refuge, hope, and the promise of return.

● The wounded and dying: Grant healing where possible and peace to those suffering. Be with medical workers as they save lives under fire.

● Soldiers on both sides: Move their hearts toward mercy; soften the resolve for war and awaken a desire for peace and reconciliation.

● A swift end to the conflict: Lord, we beg You to bring about a ceasefire and lasting peace that restores Ukraine’s sovereignty and allows for healing and rebuilding.

● Those bringing humanitarian aid: Protect and strengthen all workers risking their lives to bring food, medicine, and comfort.

May Your peace that surpasses understanding guard the hearts and minds of all Ukraine. Amen.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”
